Endowment Campaign for the Armandi Award
J. B. Arbaugh, MED Division Chair
To honor the memory of former MED Division Chair Barry Armandi, MED has decided to create the Armandi Best Doctoral Student Paper Award. This award will be given for the best paper by a doctoral student or students.
Consistent with our other best paper awards, we anticipate that the award will be a commemorative plaque and a $500 cash award. We are trying to establish an AOM endowment account to fund this award. If you’d like to contribute to the endowment, please send a check made to the Academy of Management to the following address:
J. B. Arbaugh, MED Division Chair
College of Business
University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
800 Algoma Blvd.
Oshkosh, WI 54901
The checks will then be sent collectively to the Academy office. Since individual contributions to the Academy are tax deductible, you will receive a letter of receipt. If you have questions regarding the Armandi Award or the endowment fund contact email the Division Chair at arbaugh@uwosh.edu

Kenneth R. Thompson, DePaul University

MED members and members of the AOM can look forward to paper sessions that ranged from “Positioning Business Schools to Meet Needs” to “Using Teams in the Classroom” to “Virtual Learning: Satisfaction and Values,” and a whole host of interesting topics of importance in business education.
Please note the sessions when our Best Paper Award Winners and other Academy Proceedings papers will be presented. Gerard Beenen (Carnegie Mellon U.) will be presenting proceedings paper “Learning Fast: Understanding MBA Internship Effectiveness” on Monday in Pennsylvania Convention Center Room 109A during the 8:30 -10:20am session. Also during that session time Alan Belasen and Rosalyn Rufer (both SUNY-Empire State College) will be presenting proceedings paper “Building a Competency-based MBA Program from the Ground Up: Curriculum Design and Program Delivery” in Pennsylvania Convention Center Room 109B. This session is scheduled on Monday, August 6, 10:40 – 11:50am in Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room 109B. Sponsorship Opportunities for the MED/NDSC Welcome Reception
J. B. Arbaugh, MED Division Chair
We will be conducting the inaugural MED/NDSC Welcome Reception at this year's Academy meetings. As many of you are no doubt aware, new doctorally-qualified faculty in business are in high demand. Therefore, many schools will need to do whatever they're able to put their best foot forward to these emerging scholars. MED will provide schools a fairly cost-efficient way of getting their names out to those new to the profession. We'll be offering schools/departments the opportunity to be sponsors for this reception. The sponsoring thresholds and associated "awards" for sponsorship are as follows:
$100(US) - Silver sponsor - acknowledgement during the social.
$250(US) - Gold sponsor - acknowledgement during the social and school banner can be hung for the reception (school representative must provide the banner - metal grommets on the banner if possible)
If your school (or you on behalf of your school) is interested in being a sponsor for this event, please contact me directly (arbaugh@uwosh.edu) to work out the logistics of sponsorship
